Shocking Moments Huge Sinkhole Opens In Japanese City, A huge sinkhole has opened in the centre of a Japanese city, prompting concern for commercial buildings perched precariously on its edge.

A huge sinkhole on Monday has crashed banking systems, and caused power outages and major traffic disruptions in downtown Fukuoka, Japan.

The hole measured about 30m long, 27m wide and 15m deep as at 10am local time (2pm NZT), and continues to grow, said police.

Photographs on social media showed the sinkhole forming in front of the main railway station in the south-western city of Fukuoka shortly after 5am.
